Overview
15 Seconds a Lifetime is Divya Kharnare's documentary about Mayur Natekar, a young man in Mumbai chasing TikTok fame, filmed across the two years before India banned the app. Plexus Motion brought me in to design and animate the title.
I built the type out of the platform it is about: the cyan and magenta split of the TikTok logo, a heartbeat line drawn through "15 Seconds", and the app's own like, comment and share icons. The music and the shots leading into the titles set the timing. I animated two versions, one on black and one on white. The film premiered at the New York Indian Film Festival and won Best Self-Funded Film at the Cine Pobre Film Festival.
